The first step to fixing that faucet is figuring out where the leak is originating. The most common places for a leaky faucet is around the aerator. The aerator is a little nozzle that is at the end of the faucet where the water comes out. These come in all shapes and sizes, but usually it is removable. This is probably of the easiest leaks to fix. All that is needed is an 8" crescent wrench and some plumbers tape (sometimes called Teflon tape). On occasion, you may need to replace the aerator. This will require a trip to the hardware store. Be sure to take in your old one!

Depending on where the leak originates, you may find it necessary to open the cabinet and do some looking. Pots and pans underneath the sink is a good indication that you may need to do some faucet repair. Use your eyes and see where the leak is coming from. If it is the tubing, consider purchasing a tubing kit from a hardware store. Usually, you can just tell them why you need the tubing and they can provide you with option replacements.

As is obvious, faucet repairs are not difficult nor are the expensive. However, what you get in return is well worth any cost you may incur. Fixing that leaky faucet is a good, sound investment in not only your family, but the environment as well.
